Francesca Balada, Psy.D. earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Psychology from Cornell University, a Master's Degree in Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant University. She is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist and approved by the Board of Psychology, California (PSY21770) and by the Board of Psychology, New York (#019331-1). Dr. Balada has treated couples, families and children in individual, group, and family therapy for over a decade.

Dr. Balada currently serves as a member of the American Psychological Association, the New York Psychological Association, and the California Psychological Association. She completed her clinical training at an APA-accredited clinical site. Previous to entering private practice she worked at Children's Hospital Oakland, University of California at San Francisco, and Stanford University. Dr. Balada is designated as an approved supervisor by the Board of Psychology and supervises pre-doctoral and post-doctoral psychology interns.

Clinical Expertise
As a Psychologist practicing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dr. Balada sees people experiencing problems as a combination of the stresses in the environments in which they are currently living. In working with people she believes it is important to consider how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. It is also important to understand what people are going through in their personal lives, families, relationships, and careers, their family of origin issues, their cognitions and well being.
